Don't give up. One of mine, who was a house cat and not used to being outside other than on a harness, escaped one night without me realising when I opened the back door to let the dog on the garden. I took a week off work doing everything I could to get him back as the sooner you get active the greater the chance of finding them - when putting up posters for some three hundred yards around and putting smaller versions through letterboxes produced no sightings I posted them every few yards for about a mile around. Two days later I got a call from a woman who lived about half a mile away to say she had seen a cat who looked like the picture on the poster in her garden and he was there now. I shot over and it was him.
I bless that woman to this day, it may sound dramatic to non-cat lovers, but my life would have had a dark cloud over it forever if she hadn't called me. Just be active - posters everywhere, knocking on doors. Just remember - it sounds obvious but he has to be somewhere. |
