The idea that some Councils do not celebrate Christmas is a Daily Mail myth that was debunked sometime ago.

The other widely held myth is that other religions object to the celebration of Christmas or would be likely to object to this film. The prayer is a theistic one rather than a specifically Christian one which a Muslim or a Jew could quite happily join in with without contradicting their beliefs. The only people likely to be 'offended' by this are secularists as this thread seems to demonstrate quite well.

As a non-believer I'd happily sit in the cinema and listen to the Our Father as the words are very beautiful and you can see how it would give comfort to many and couldn't possible offend anyone other than those seeking to find offence. However, the Pandora's Box that the cinema company appear to have opened here is granting of the right of veto to those claiming to be offended. If such a right exists then what is the logic of it not applying to the films as well as the ads? We shouldn't start trying to censor stuff simply because it has a point of view we don't share.
