Only Vodafone can unlock the phone if it is locked to Vodafone under a contract. What may be the problem is the contract and phone. Was the iPhone the phone she received with the original Vodafone contract. If you don't honor the full contract they can hold back unlocking it. If you also have been using that iPhone with your Vodafone sim it has to be the phone that was supplied with that contract, otherwise they have no obligation to unlock phone. Apple cant unlock phones so i guess its either Vodafone under the above criteria or £45 and a 7-14 day wait. I am sure you could get it cheaper elsewhere but how much cheaper and the extra hassle maybe not worth it. Both stalls on CHR charge £45 to unlock an iPhone on Vodafone or O2 and they both have to send it off and takes 7-14 days, that is certainly the case on a o2 locked iPhone and i think also Vodafone but not EE which i think is only £15-£20 and 24 hrs. |
