"Really? TWO with exactly the same name?" It's quite confusing, though the names are subtly different. The one you supported is the one that is the subject of this thread: [All the following information is from the Charity Commission website.] 801569 PENSIONERS ALONE AT CHRISTMAS GROUP Activities: "PROVISION OF CHRISTMAS DAY PARTY LUNCHEON PARTY FOR LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE SPEND THE DAY ALONE. WE ALSO HOLD AN ANNUAL SUMMER TEA PARTY." Registered: 1989 Area of benefit: "CHISWICK, LONDON BOROUGH OF HOUNSLOW" Website: www.pensionersaloneatchristmas.com Contact: Mrs Pauline Hart, who appears to be the only trustee. The other "PAAC" charity is: 1031068 - PENSIONERS ALONE AT CHRISTMAS (HOUNSLOW) Activities: "PROVIDES TRANSPORT, LUNCH, TEA, ENTERTAINMENT & GIFTS ON CHRISTMAS DAY FOR PENSIONERS RESIDING WITHIN THE HOUNSLOW BOROUGH WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE ALONE" Registered: 1994 Area of benefit: "IN PRACTICE HOUNSLOW" Website: none Contact: Mrs Helen Young, Isleworth (trustees: her and 2 others) While Mrs Young's PAAC charity is up to date with its reporting to the Charity Commission, the Chiswick one is 294 days late with the Annual Update that was due on 31 March 2014. I would imagine that they risk being deregistered as a charity unless they are already in contact with the Charity Commission about this. Perhaps Pauline or another Committee member can say if they need any help on this point? |
