Sometimes I think the world has gone mad, but the news that the government is to fit out a plane for minister's use costing £10M to save an estimated three-quarters of a million quid a year really astounded me. They are cribbing about the £9m it costs - they say - to provide the FOI Act, rumour is that Osborne will go after housing benefit in his spending review and that's not to mention the tax credit sod-up. Is a plane really a priority, whatever happened to austerity and we're all in this together? The mind boggles at what they will call it! |
