| I'm right there with you Philippa. It is the time of excess and appalling waste. It's a case of what Christmas means to us all. I've made a smart move this year and let my family know that what I would like for Christmas is a flight to Ibiza to stay with my daughter and family in their big farmhouse. Brilliant! Flight booked and paid for in a matter of minutes. They never know what to give me and won't have to fit me in for a visit. Granny is taking to the hills and there's no holding her when she gets to the drum kit! :-) I've been before!! The hills will resound to the sound of music! A rave going on in the hills. The music room is well equipped but Granny will arrive with more. A 60's squeeze box ( made in China). a cimbala, tenor recorder, African drum, Bananas in Pyjamas, Chas and Dave Cockney Christmas Carols. There are violins, guitars, electronic keyboard, cymbals, piano and pretty well everything else. The last time I was there a steady stream of visitors arrived attracted to the sounds and even a wild boar joined us. Snuffle, snuffle, grunt, grunt All are welcome. Every body pick up an instrument and join in. The dog joined in too. Howl, howl, woof, woof. Video and Skype. They'll be able to have a rest when I go home and nothing wasted. |
