I agree with a couple of the others, the answer should be that the large companies pay their fair share. As a small business owner I'd like to pay less tax, corporation, NI and VAT, but I also believe that if you want schools, roads, police, NHS etc then you have to put in. Sadly this is not true of all businesses big and small.
I think if ever independent busy for sale at the moment in W4 had a for sale sign you'd be surprised. Not all small businesses are perfect or indeed worth the little extra you may pay so we have to play our part and make sure the public gets value for money in the way of service and knowledge but Governments need to address the tax issue to give a level planing field. (they also need to enforce the minimum wage so we again are all playing on that desired playing field) |
