Strange how this story is being spun by people on this thread and elsewhere - The Department of Health is saying that the offer includes 1) a 11% increase in pay 2) a 25% cut in unsociable hours and 3) A 72 hours  maximum shift(down from 91).

So what is not to like? Better pay, fewer unsociable hours and shorter shifts.

The down side is guaranteed pay raises based of years of service are out of the window and instead pay increases will depend on satisfactory progress and performance on training programme.

Surely time the BMA got back into negotiations and stopped trying to pick fights.
