Most people go there for the jazz (I’ve been to the Jazz festival several times in the spring) but the food is fab - those Cajuns really know how to cook!  Google ahead for recommended restaurants (not necessarily fine dining) but you’ve got to try gumbo, poboys, crawfish, red beans & rice and your very last stop of a very very late night has to be Cafe Beignet.  Regrettably I’ve not been back there for several years but I think it might be time to consider a revisit!
