Presumably, 'elderly' came into use as a sort of euphemism for 'old' but I agree that it is no better and possibly worse. When buying tickets for the cinema, I usually ask for a 'senior ticket' but then that makes me think of 'senior moments'. You can't win! I shall henceforth refer to myself as 'a wrinkly'. |
