David. As you can see, the Greenpeace petition is about NOx emissions which a cause of great concern with London's air quality and the rapidly advancing technology with electric and hybrid cars. Batteries are far more efficient now and still being bettered ( no sort of batteries at all should be going to landfill. They're classed as hazardous waste.) Chargemaster are now replacing all the old or faulty charging points free of charge and in addition installing 600 more. Hounslow are now installing charging points on lampposts to make them more accessible. Evidently both cars and charging points have come a long way since they first started. According to a poll by GoUltraLow electric vehicles will be the vehicle of choice by 2026. "Battery technology continues to improve and the amount of resources needed to make an electric car will continue to fall" I don't drive at all and never have so am not qualified to comment. I'm just passing on the petition so that those who agree can sign. The purpose of it is to let VW and others know how many people want this to happen. |
