Rima, you may not be aware, but VW have already announced a massive diversion of their R&D budget from Diesel to Electric and Hydrogen technologies. I am not sure your petition is relevent. I do not get this demonisation of VW. Yes they got caught cheating, but the testing authorities Worldwide have totally colluded in this deceit for years. At best they have been negligent in not ensuriing rigourous tests. it was always accepted that a car would not perform on the road in the same way as in a test environment. It was recently revealed that the UK authorities knew as far back as 2009 that there was a big gap in NOX emissions in test compared to on the road. If you are going to be objective about this you will see that in general VW cars are at least as clean as any other major manufacturer, and in many cases, cleaner. I dont own a VW and never have, but I do own a diesel, which the government told me was environmentally friendly. I almost feel cheated that it is not a VW, so I cant jump on the bandwagon of compensation claims. |
