Well that depends how you view this, some of the Lords would have it that this is not a financial issue it is a welfare matter. I too view the Bishops as pretty feeble, all they were prepared to do was propose a motion expressing 'regret' at the Government's decision. What we should be pressing for is an elected upper chamber and stop all this nonsense of packing the place with whoever's chums at £300 a day and subsidised booze and food. Why oh why should someone with a personal fortune of £600m expect the taxpayer to chip in for their dinner?
