There is a very good article on the price of tickets at football grounds across the country. One surprising fact it uncovers is that you can actually pay less for watching Arsenal at the Emirates that you would to see Brentford at Griffin Park. A category C game for them will have seats available at £27 against the cheapest priced tickets of £28 for Brentford. I'm not a Brentford fan but I have been to see them quite regularly over the last couple of decades because I enjoy lower league football and will often take in a game if I am free for the weekend. Last Christmas holidays we had visitors and thought it might be a good idea but when we worked out the cost it was shockingly expensive. They are very anxious to present themselves as a community club but these ticket prices undermine that. I am aware of the good work that the club does in the community and that junior tickets are much cheaper but they shouldn't forget that it is dad that it is paying and if he doesn't bring his kids to games there will be no next generation of fans.
