I have just used the Richmond Townmeade facility to dump an old mattress. After seeing this thread I was ready to be turn away as I came from Hounslow. I drove in with no problem and passed two gentleman that work there without being asked where I had come from, although where you dump the mattresses is in the first section as you drive in. I think to dump green waste you have to drive into another part of the facility, where there are more staff about. My vehicle is as large as a van and could be used as a van but at know time was approached. I am beginning to think if you visit the dump frequently with the same type of waste the staff begin to think you are running some type of business and dumping the waste in a car to get around paying. I witness this type of argument at the Ealing facility off Bolo Lane, when the resident was trying to explain he had a 100 ft garden and he was removing over grown hedges from both sides of it, but he only had a small car. But maybe its a bit hit and miss weather you get stopped at Townmead |
