I can't speak for the other countries, but from my Irish perspective, looking at the England team who started against Australia I'd have Watson, Joseph, May, Farrell, B Youngs, Marler, T Youngs, Cole, Launchbury or Parling and Morgan in the Ireland RWC squad. In each case, I think each of these players would be better than a current Irish RWC squad player so under the right coach, would be in the match day 23 therefore pushing for a starting place. The England wings are better than D Kearney and Fitzgerald, Joseph is better than Cave, Fitzgerald or Earls as a 13. Farrell is better than Madigan and Jackson and so on. There is absolutely no way I'd have Lancaster over Schmidt, however. |
