You can buy a good animal repellent spray from Robert Dyas or any DIY store. Spray the netting and the bottom of the posts. It works really well as it is oily so does not wash away in the rain. Spray every now and then and it will keep them away I used it on rubbish bags and bins for years and had not problems. They like very smelly things like shoes because they contain bacteria that makes the smell and that bacteria is what attracts them to carrion in the wild. If you throw out old shoes put them in a plastic bag sealed in your freezer it kills the smell so when you put them in your recycling box they will be less likely to steal them. My neighbour would like to report the theft of one blue gardening shoe from her porch. If anyone sees a fox wearing the said shoe can you please report it to me as she would lie to give it the other one too |
