Abomination known as EU? Simple minded wrongness. Whilst the EU and its many elements might be flawed in execution the principle of an evermore integrated Europe is sound. It is a market for trade. It can be a global powerhouse offsetting the unappealing other global options (US, Russia, China). It is a sharing of major investments - space, defence projects, etc. It is a long term perspective, not a "what gives me more money today" argument. Without a view of what Europe should be in ten or twenty years time we will end up with factionalism across Europe. And unfortunately the Nigels' lack any long term vision - just a desire to slag of the EU, duck out of European commitments and pretend that the UK is somehow different. Opt out and all will be better. Such merde.
Of course, if you are English you might think you are not European at all...
