| Well the whole reparation to the slave trade issue is a big question and I haven't got my head around that yet. But I do think an issue is, as you say how far back do you go. Some of my ancestors were Vikings, should I personally pay non-Viking stock because my ancestors probably raped and pillaged and murdered their ancestors? The slave trade was of course a disgrace and a blot on humanity almost on the scale that ISIS is today. I would be interested to hear if Obama is planning that the US makes reparation and if so on what scale as the deep South inflicted terrible hardship on slaves. |
