The charities certainly are big business and I'm forever getting on at head offices about so many donations being thrown away. Efficiency. It seems to have stopped now and they never throw out clothes which as I say are collected. The charity shops are our biggest recyclers and it all began with a group of Oxford students questioning why was so much of the world is living in poverty when we are throwing so much away. So Oxfam, the Oxford Commitee For Famine Relief was set up in the 30s. Now look at it! They are doing an amazing job which isn't without problems, mainly to do with excess. There are at least 168 registered charities in the UK. Is the one in question, using the pink ribbon logo affiliated to Cancer Research? If so we would expect it to say so. Waiting for reply. |
