Well I'll try again Claire, for clarification. Clothes taken to Cancer Research are sorted and the best of it sold. The rest is collected by Choice textiles, a registered charity, which pays a nominal amount for sacks of textiles and shoes, sorts and redistributes to those in need. Whatever sacks come through letterboxes are unlikely to succeed. And from what I see on the web the one mentioned doesn't have good reports. Textiles put in green boxes are also sorted for the same purpose. There are several initiatives with this, textiles are the second biggest waste stream and at the top end there is Livia Firth and the Green Carpet Challenge. Others are reusing the fibres. OK Bobby? |
