If he gets insured as the main driver, ensure that you and/or your husband are also named drivers, irrespective of whether he lives at home or not. That also (for some weird reason) helps reduce the premium. fwiw, my son originally got insured with Elephant with my wife and I as named drivers, albeit the premium was still fairly hefty. He was in his low twenties and driving a sports car. He was living in Twickenham at the time (from memory).
