It makes you wonder what else the vet was going to do to justify another £400 on top of the £150 you had already spent. Veterinary charges have always been a puzzle to me, but I guess if they get your pets well again, you just have to accept it's going to cost.I also had cause to contact the vets on Saturday.My Border Collie suddenly collapsed and started wretching.He was gasping for air as he couldn't get his breath.To me, this was a medical emergency that needed immediate treatment.I rang the vet (who I have recently changed to on the recommendation of others) to be told I could take my dog in at 2:30 pm.At the time it was 11:10.I said he needed to be seen straight away only to be told they were just closing.By now my dog was lying on his side gasping and choking so I put him in my car and drove straight to my old vets, who took him straight into the surgery and examined him.Two injections and a couple of tablets later he got back into the car himself, my happier, and no longer choking.I guess I'll be taking him back to the old vet in future.It's at times like this you need a vet that cares more for your pet than they do about their lunch.
