| A stray I had for 14 years, probably about 2 when I got her. She was probably around 16 when it happened; at first her back legs went very weak and she'd topple over sideways. Then one day they gave out, very suddenly. I took her to the vet and was told that I should put her down as it was incurable and she'd be great pain when it got worse. She wasn't in pain at the time so I took her home and nursed her, massaging her haunches and legs almost continually. She picked up and was walking wobbly again and purring and eating normally. All was well for some months, but then she got hit with such pain it was obviously hopeless. I rushed her to the vet and that was that. It was tough. |
