The Nest alarms mentioned are networked wirelessly (both battery and mains versions), so if one detects an alarm, it notifies the others in the house. They can even be set up to speak the alarm (like "Alarm in kitchen") before sounding the siren. In a big house you need to check each unit can communicate wirelessly with another, however. They use their own wireless separate from WiFi, however you can still use WiFi to control and test the alarms with a smartphone app. |
