Hi Alan, Will and Rima - sorry St Paul's has annoyed you so much. I can assure you it is not church policy to staple notices to trees, and the subject has often been raised at church meetings. Apologies that Michael did not email you back - like many vicars he is possibly better at spiritual and personal communication rather than technological! We are very keen that the church is a community space, and it is often used by other local organisations who use various methods to publicize their events. We can certainly re-iterate our policy on posters to them in the future. It's a shame that you feel the mention of our garden on our website is "smug" - like the church itself, it is always open, and available to all - a good place for some quiet contemplation. Finally I disagree that St Paul's would have Anne Naysmith "turning in her grave". In recent years the church has sometimes been a refuge and shelter for the homeless - despite the opposition of some residents I may say. And once a month we are happy to be able to offer everyone the chance to hear really superb classical music - often performed by professional musicians - at our "Second Sunday" Concerts - which are completely FREE - something I am sure Ms Naysmith would have approved of! In fact there is one tomorrow - Gina Kruger(piano) and Marion Willman (soprano) - perhaps we'll see you there?

This response will look as if it comes from Alan - who drew my attention to your posts; I don't usually visit the forum - too much ranting! But in fact it comes from

Catherine Jessop
