I believe we need to, and should take genuine refugees. When I read in the local press about the 64 year old who was on every benefit possible and was living on his own in a ‘multi million £” 4- bedroomed council home paid for by the taxpayer, and he deemed it appropriate to rent out the 4 bedrooms for £700 a month EACH while he moved into the garden shed in the huge garden, I found the answer to two problems namely; the Bedroom Tax fiasco and the refugee crisis. There must be thousands of people living in Council housing with extra bedrooms since their kids have grown up and moved out. The government could easily scrap the bedroom tax and force these people to house refugees in the spare bedrooms. |
