Had a very pleasant visit to this house on Wimbledon Common this afternoon. As I was unaware of its existence until a few days ago, I thought other members of the forum might be similarly ignorant so thought I would recommend it. http://southsidehouse.com/ There is a 90-minute guided tour of the house and the gardens are also very pretty. It's not a stately home but a family home, much added to over the centuries, and lived in by a rather eccentric lot. It closes for the year at the end of September. Short ride on the 200 bus from Wimbledon Station.
