Hi, We are having our loft converted. One chimney had to be raised. We had to pay extra for it. They are raising it with bricks that are completely different than the original bricks. They are obviously new but also different colour. The builder claims "antique bricks" would cost £2/each (and he needs 300 of them). Does that seem fair and correct to you? Is it what happens normally? I don't know who to ask... I am afraid someone in our street might report a breach to the planning permission... Any advice or shared experience appreciated.
