"A report revealed that the amount of [UK] taxpayers’ cash spent on foreign development projects has soared by 65 per cent over the last decade to £8.3billion last year. The increase is more than double that of the G8 group of nations, made up of the UK, Germany, France, Russia, Japan, Italy, Canada and the US, as a whole. Meanwhile, the proportion of national income (GDP) dedicated to aid by other countries including the US, Italy, Japan and Germany, has actually fallen over the last year. The figures were disclosed in a document prepared for Prime Minister David Cameron and other world leaders including US President Barack Obama who gathered on the shores of Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, yesterday for the G8 Summit. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/408367/Anger-as-Britain-still-gives-MORE-foreign-aid-than-any-other-G8-country |
