In response to earlier question about how you can build on the roof if you don't own the roof, you can do so under a building license, essentially an agreement between the developer and the roof owner (Freehold). "Fresh air" development is very tricky legally and practically but is quite widely done in London to maximise space - and it can be remunerative to developers. I seem to remember that it was done to one of the development on the North Circular just past Chiswick roundabout a few years ago. The existing residents should be able to extract quite a few benefits in terms of amenities if they go about it the right way. |
