Not a beer drinker so that is not really a concern - nice environment and decor and (of course) dog friendly is good. Was going to meet a couple of friends at the George 1V a few months ago but the greasy smell and just downmarket feel when we walked in made us go round the corner to the wine bar in Devonshire Road which was a much nicer experience. I and most of my friends look for space and airiness, tables not too close together, nice decor, ideally a view although on the CHR that is not going to be possible, good food and a good selection of wines, without it being horrendously expensive.  After a long, muddy wet walk from Hammersmith to Barnes Bridge and back down Chiswick and Hammersmith malls we had lunch at the Black Lion which was fine it terms of food (and acceptance of wet muddy albeit wellbehaved dogs), and excellent in terms of courteous, friendly and prompt service.  It would be lovely if all the Chiswick pubs were the same.
