I am generally horrified at the way shop assistants routinely reach for a plastic bag even when 'one' has only bought two or three items. The one that took the biscuit the other day was when I bought a single lolly pop from Sainsbury's, Kew Bridge and was automatically offered a bag. I questioned this and the assistant said that it was 'policy' to offer a bag. Can this possibly be true?! A whole carrier bag for one lollipop!!!
