http://www.letsrecycle.com/packaging/regulations/ Morrisons and the other supermarkets now have their card yoghurt pots marked up as "card - widely recycled" - yay! Sainsbury's courgettes which used to be packed in threes in a plastic tray inside a plastic film wrap have lost their tray - yay! (but naked would be even better and can buy them singly at the greengrocer) Sainsbury's 3 stainless steel scourers are packed in a tray with separate 'cups' and then a plastic film wrap - why? They're not pastries and/or delicate. Big thumbs down! Sainsbury's potatoes (or some of them) come in a plastic bag that is net on the front and is recyclable in larger stores with carrier bags - yay! Tesco's sizzle steaks are packed in an enormous plastic box. They could fit twice if not three times as many in that box. Big thumbs down! (Memo to self: must go to a butcher's or go somewhere else to avoid all that plastic.) Have you noticed any changes for the better? Or is there any packaging you think excessive - or difficult to recycle? |
