Problem is that many people (and most babies) don't know about it. "..a lot of bites would be avoided if people knew them and appropriate action taken.." Why on earth should we learn dog psychology to avoid getting bitten when out in public? Surely you've got it all the wrong way around. If your dog might bite someone, it's down to you to prevent it, not for innocent strangers to learn how to avoid it. And if I was confronted by an aggressive dog, and I was wearing a robust pair of boots, I would certainly not be trying to remember to hold my arms up and turn to one side. My immediate response would be far more direct and well aimed. You didn't mention that the dog and the baby were 6 or 7 feet apart in your earlier post, it sounded like they were crawling around together. Phew. |
