Claire my answer wasn’t direct to you that’s why it carried the posters quote. What’s a quiet twin engine turbo prop aircraft testing the new runway landing aids at Heathrow got to do with a another runway? If another runway is built that plane will run over it 4 to 8 times before its open and then it wont come back until any maintenance is carried out on the landing aids. Just how many times have you heard it this year? As I said its part of life if you live near an Airport, and many residents have moved hear for the convenience of business air-travel to and from Europe, I guess you would want your fellow residents to travel safely, hence the safety checks of the landing aids. Not the it makes any difference to the conversation but I have lived here for 69 years and yes working at Heathrow does effect your hearing especially when you have worked in close proximity to the runways and stationary running aircraft jet engines, which makes a turbo prop engine sound like a cat purring |
