Usually only the jet elements of the Queen's Birthday flypast continue over North Chiswick every year. Cloud cover led to cancellation of all but the Red Arrows after Trooping The Colour in June and they tend to turn north over Kensington more often than not before reaching W4.

In terms of this afternoon's flypast, the 'NOTAM' notice states:

"ALL AIRCRAFT HAVE SEPARATE ROUTINGS OUTBOUND FROM THE LONDON/CITY CTR. OUTSIDE OF CONTROLLED AIRSPACE, OTHER AIRSPACE USERS ARE REQUESTED TO AVOID THE ROUTE 3NM EITHER SIDE OF TRACK DURING THE STATED TIMES."

The Horse Guards flypast route is the same at used for the VE70 flypast on May 10 (see my pic of a Spitfire and two Hurricanes over St James's Park below). I'm not expert enough to be sure but the smaller prop planes always turn quickly and are much less likely to continue as far as us. The larger Dakota might be a contender but I'd guess the modern Typhoon jet would be the best poss W4 bet of all?
