Maggie Possibly a bit harsh, but Rick Stein was Sam Harrison's backer and he has gluten free options on his menus too - does that make him an idiot as well? Personally I think the focus on food should be shifted to drastically reducing sugars in food - it's quite frightening how much sugar is in foodstuffs eg Mayonnaise and Bread - which if you make yourself no sugar is added but it is in shop bought mayo and bread! I believe that fast food outlets such as MacDonalds, BK, Subway etc have 20 gms of sugar per 100 gms of bread in their buns, which is very high. It's these hidden sugars that are dangerous to health in terms of Diabetes. |
