Claire, my reason for mentioning prescribed drugs is that doctors are banned from prescribing cannabis to patients in severe pain.It has been proved in many studies that cannabis is a very effective painkiller for people that have severe intractable pain, but unless you have MS as well, you just have to suffer.I have been a patient under the Pain Clinic at Charing Cross for the last 12 years. There are no other drugs they can prescribe for me because over that 12 years they have tried every painkiller available to them (including diamorphine).I know cannabis relieves the spinal pain I suffer with but the doctors are not allowed to prescribe it.If I were to source some from somewhere else, I could get a criminal record.I don't think that is fair and a complete overhaul of the drug laws in this country is long overdue. |
