I agree, Delilah, if they are not used to going out they rarely stray far. They will run further if they are spooked but if that happens they will usually run for cover and hide not very far away. My boy had been lurking in an alleyway away from peoople and traffic for 7 nights about half a mile away before hunger finally drove him to jump about six feet over the alleyway fence into a garden where he was spotted from the posters I had put everywhere for about a mile around. He got out about 11 pm at night and I didn't realise for over an hour that he was missing and by the time I started looking for him I think he had been spooked by foxes - I must have come across 15 or so round the back alleys round where I live while I was wandering round for a few hours that night looking for him. |
