IMHO it is always an admission of failure by the road designers and planners when they find it necessary to introduce traffic lights preventing the free flow of traffic round a roundabout. Lights on the access roads, perhaps, but ones on the roundabout itself rarely help matters. Short of tunnelling the North Circular underneath the roundabout there is little obvious that can be done, with the exit to Kew Bridge and the one onto the A4 towards the M4 westbound both backing up onto the roundabout in heavy traffic. |
