Yep, free BMD before you look at taking out a subscription. You will also find that some of the local genealogical societies have copies of registrations in their local area. Also one name studies. You will be bombarded with offers of subscriptions. I also used to search the info available at Kew online. Just googling names (especially unusual) can bring up information or leads to follow. I found a diary written by a ?xgreat uncle (who is on my tree) is sitting in a library in Philadelphia. |
