| My question is related to breaching confidentiality in this scenario. If a pregnant woman tells you "my husband beats me up but i dont want to report it" do you have an obligation to report it as, whenever you are dealing with a vulnearble person being subjected to abuse, it is your duty to do so ( as an interpreter, during a pre interview with only the client present) My understanding is 1- foetuses do not have a legal status so vulnerable person is involved 2- a pregnant woman is nos considered vulnerable because she is pregnant I beileve there is nothing to report to the service provider because of my two reasons above I still need to find Some legislation that specifically states that a pregnant woman is considered vulnerable to support my theory number 2 |
