"It would be if that is what she said." It is precisely what she said. "Her description of the daily routine of the traffic wardens is exactly the same as a friend of mine" Well it's nonsense. I see traffic wardens everywhere in Chiswick. So does everyone else. They are not all sitting behind the town hall drinking coffee all day. "I find it very hard to believe that anyone in the 21st century could have this view" Well, believe it. I am not the only one to hold the view that far too many people get instantly offended at the slightest provocation. So what if someone gives us a bit of lip? So what if someone insults us? It happens all the time. People get irritated, people get cross, people can say horrible things. We should all be a little more hardy, especially living in the sort of city London is. I do not agree with this trend towards "zero tolerance" of anything that offends us. I think it's quite healthy to be told I'm a damned idiot from time to time, I probably am and it's helpful to be reminded. I certainly don't start firing off complaints that I've been offended and it has to stop immediately. Gabriella has decided not to offer any further information, so my conclusion is that there was a bit of push and shove on both sides, some words were exchanged, and some snarling ensued. Big deal, move on. |
