Perhaps we should take the approach of "would I say that to the persons face, say if we were down the pub". This self reflection might avoid some of the vitriol and even the dull repetitive posts. You know that anyone with you (down the pub) would let you know you were being out of order. So in writing posts with personal attacks just imagine others down the pub saying 'steady on mate, bit excessive'. And posts on the same old subject again and again - 'mate, give it a rest, eh?'. And posts that shift into 1-1 fights - 'bang out of order boys, reel it in or take it outside'. Etc. So Adrian, if observing your bleating posts to get this thread's initiator to provide an answer to your (poor) question: 'have a word with yourself son, you're missing the point'. Remember this concept is self regulation - you have the inner dialogue that keeps you and your posts right. And it means the forum can cover any topic; happily. |
