The person you buy the car from also has a part of the V5 to send to the DVLA.This will state the date you bought the car from them.Also, when you buy the insurance, you have to state a date and time you wish the insurance to commence from.So yes, the insurance is valid.Some car supermarkets will issue 7 day insurance cover so if you buy a car from them, you can drive it home straight away.As long as the paperwork is sent to the DVLA within a reasonable time, you will have no problems. |
