| There is a local winter shelter every year, The Shelter Project, run by a string of churches of different denominations in Hounslow (so covering Chiswick as well as Brentford). It runs from 1 December to 31 March. I am sure they'd welcome volunteers (I have volunteered for the past 4 years and will be doing so again this year).
