| The house next door to us had this done and it was an absolute nightmare.The noise and dust went on for almost a year.You have my sympathy.If you cannot manage to stop this work going ahead, at least see if you can get an agreement as to what work can be done at certain times.The workers on the house next door were not supposed to start until 8 am, but they used to start with their jackhammers at 7 and our house used to shake.It's not the best way to be woken up.If the people that own the house aren't going to be living there while the work is being carried out, make sure you have got ways to contact them.The people next door to us went to work abroad for a year and we couldn't contact them.While the work was being carried out, the workmen fractured the main drain, which we share on a friday, and didn't return till monday.It is essential you have contact details for the owners. |
