I believe that the free offer is available for a year. It's annoying that Microsoft say it's available "for a limited time", with no clue as to whether that means a week or a year. If you sign up for the free upgrade, it seems that they'll download the upgrade files - 3GB - at a time of their choosing, and then you can choose when to install it. Personally, I'm not keen to install anything from Microsoft on day 1, and if I have to download 3GB, I'd prefer to choose when to do that. |
