Put simply religion has no place in a state school. A fundamental tenet of state schools should be inclusion. A "religious" school is, by its very definition, exclusive. Private religious schools...fine. Religion is a life-style choice. It is not genetic trait such as skin colour, gender or sexual orientation so it should not receive the same protection as such. |
